Inspired by the artist, Yayoi Kusama, and linking with their science topic "Electrical circuits" , Year 6 made these wonderful lanterns.  First, they decorated their lamp shades using a variety of dot sizes and colours.  Then, they designed a base to house their circuitry and light bulb. In their circuits, they had to ensure they had a power source, switch and light bulb. We had great fun experimenting with foil and seeing how to reflect more light into the shade, using similar concepts to car headlight designers. Finally, they put it all together, turned them on and we displayed them in the school's very own "Obliteration Room".
