EYFS
Early Years Foundation Stage
Woodford Green Early Years is an exciting place for children to start their education. Pupils are happy and extremely enthusiastic about learning. We aim to inspire confident learners through a culture of high expectations that continuously celebrates the social, academic and emotional successes of all pupils.
Our excellent ISI inspection (Nov 2014) quotes: ‘Provision in the EYFS is outstanding in meeting the needs of the range of children who attend and contributing to their well-being… The quality of leadership and management, including links with parents, is excellent’.
The EYFS consists of Foundation 1 (Nursery) and Foundation 2 (Reception). We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is delivered through a balance of child-initiated and teacher-led activities. Within the curriculum there are 3 Prime areas and 4 specific areas.
Prime Areas
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Develop
Specific Areas
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Our committed and hardworking team ensures all children access a full educational programme. Individual progress is recorded and fully monitored, and regular updates are sent home to parents.
At Woodford Green Preparatory we nurture a lifetime love of learning through fostering positive relationships and celebrating each individual.
