Visiting Author - Vese Aghoghovbia Aladewolu

Posted on: 4th Oct 2023

On Tuesday 3rd October, we were privileged to meet with the author, Vese Aghoghovbia Aladewolu,  who has written the respected book ‘Who Do I See in the Mirror?’ Vese gave a reading of her book to the younger year groups and spoke about the importance of pride in their identity, uniqueness, curiosity and recognising that there is still so much more to discover about themselves.

FS1 looked at their unique fingerprint patterns, FS2 looked at the different shapes of their hands and Year 1 created portraits and studied their reflections. Vese pointed out that the different colours are what makes a rainbow beautiful; we are all different so that is what makes our school so wonderful.  Whoever you are, we are all beautifully made and we must recognise this.

The children enjoyed their sessions and Vese’s thoughtful message, “I am not just me, I am much more.”
