Four keen mathematicians from year 6 entered a maths quiz at Littlegarth School near Colchester on Tuesday 23rd May. There were ten schools involved and ten maths challenges to complete as well as a ‘maths stinkers’ paper which the team had to try and complete as they went around. The challenges were difficult and teams were given points for the process, the teamwork involved and the final answer. It was quite a close competition but the WGPS team finished sixth. However they did get the highest mark on the ‘maths stinkers’ paper! We all enjoyed the day and the WGPS team, on pointing out some calculations from a previous team, got an honesty point!
