Diving Deep: Ava Beer's Journey to Success

Posted on: 10th Jun 2024

Three years ago, coaches from Dive London Aquatics Club visited WGPS for a talent identification program. From 100 eager children, only 8 received the golden ticket to train at Stratford Olympic Pool. Among the fortunate few was Ava Beer, who seized the opportunity with both hands. Since then, Ava has been living her diving dream. She has had the privilege of training alongside Olympians and the incredible experience of being coached by Scarlett Mew-Jensen, a current Olympic synchro diver, for 2 whole years. Ava's dedication to the sport shines through as she immerses herself in the world of diving with sheer passion and drive.

Being part of the TID squad has been a game-changer for Ava. The camaraderie, shared goals, and sense of belonging to a squad fuel Ava's love for diving even more. She thrives in the team environment, pushing herself to new heights with every dive, all while cheering on her teammates. Ava's journey in diving has seen her compete in various competitions and be part of the London Legacy Open for elite divers held at the prestigious Stratford Aquatic Centre. Her hard work and commitment to the sport have recently paid off as she secured a spot in the upcoming Nationals Diving Championships in Southend this summer. In addition to her impressive diving achievements, Ava has also shown her caring side by raising £220 for Smiles with Grace. She crafted tie-dye shammies and sold them to fellow divers at her club, showcasing not only her diving skills but also her altruistic nature.
