Woodford Green Prep School has once again proven its dominance on the netball court by retaining the Redbridge Netball Schools Sports Collective title! After last year’s success, our team was determined to defend their crown and through skill, teamwork, and resilience, they did just that.

With 32 teams in attendance, WGPS was placed in Group H, competing against Gearies, St Augustine’s B, and St Augustine’s C. Confident yet mindful of the challenges ahead, the team showcased their preparation and teamwork to win their group and progress to the knockout stages.

In the quarter-final, we faced Snaresbrook B and dominated with a 10-1 victory. The semi-final saw us up against Snaresbrook A, a physically strong team that initially rattled us by taking an early lead. However, our players remained composed, executed their training, and turned the game around to win 11-3.

The final was set, an intense showdown against our local rivals, Churchfields, who had previously beaten us in the WGPS League. As expected, it was a tightly contested match, going goal for goal right up until the final whistle. In a nail-biting finish, our team secured a dramatic 5-4 victory, successfully defending their title and earning the honour of representing Redbridge at the London Youth Games!
