Spotlight on PSHE

Posted on: 23rd Sep 2024

At WGPS, we are committed to nurturing the whole child, and a key part of this is our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) curriculum. We use a scheme of work called Jigsaw, which aligns with our values.

Jigsaw’s comprehensive approach supports our mission to cultivate well-rounded individuals. Through engaging lessons, students explore important topics such as emotional health, relationships, and social responsibility. Each puzzle piece of the Jigsaw curriculum focuses on different aspects of personal and social development, encouraging students to understand and navigate their world with confidence and empathy.

By integrating creative activities and discussions, students are invited to express their thoughts and feelings in imaginative ways. Whether through role-play, art, or storytelling, Jigsaw fosters an environment where students can explore and develop their unique voices. With its structured yet flexible approach, Jigsaw helps students build resilience, make thoughtful decisions, and strive for their best in all aspects of life. The program’s focus on continuous improvement encourages students to reflect on their progress and aspire to achieve their full potential.

Incorporating Jigsaw as a key part of our PSHE curriculum is more than just meeting educational requirements; it’s about fostering a supportive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. By aligning with our school values, Jigsaw helps us build a community where nurture, creativity, excellence, and curiosity flourish.
